It’s fun to have the kids home. Today we went to the Partee Shack…. It’s unusual indoor putt putt but it was a blast.

Girls basketball
The girls team went Sunday to watch NC State womens play. We had a lot of fun going out for pizza ( the box was almost as big as the table) and insomnia cookie. I was disappointed to see Virginia’s team take a knee during the anthem but happy they got booed and they lost

School Christmas
My room isn’t finished yet but here is the start. We also did a table at our church ladies event. I probably won’t do that again!!

College tour
Jenna wanted to visit a few colleges so this weekend we toured Liberty. I couldn’t believe how big and gorgeous this campus was. I haven’t figured out I feel about it but ultimately it is Jenna’s decision not mine.

Excitement at school
Not your typical Monday. It was so crazy today. Before homeroom started we were outside with a possible gas leak. That lasted for over an hour. Next ms volleyball had a positive case. They have to quarantine until Thursday. I am good because I wear a mask at practice and games. I am so tired of all this!!

I have been busy again with volleyball. I love being the assistant coach to these girls. I love them so much. It’s time consuming but fun.

Bulletin Board
It's just about that time. The start of another school year. We are supposed to go in one day next week to get everything ready and then August 16th we start teacher orientation week. I am so excited that this year the teachers don't have to move from room to room, the students do. This is my first year of full time teaching. I am nervous and excited. Jenna and I went in yesterday to get my bulletin board done.

hall closet
I hate our hall closet. It is way too small and is a catch all for a lot of junk. I know Josh brings some home from college (like his towels, quilt, bed cover, sheets etc) but it usually is slammed full and prayers that no one opens it!! I did a clean out and also had Jenna redo the closet for me. We found this hack on Pinterest that makes it look like you have nice shelving, but obviously I don't. She also put some paper on the walls, but I don't know how long that will last but for now, I like it. The pictures got out of order so the first two are the finished ones and the last two are the before pictures.

Jacob college/prayer request
We spent last weekend at orientation with Jacob. It was good to see him spread his wings. I think he is feeling more confident about school. My prayer request is that he needs a good roommate. He found two and would like to room with them. The one decided he wanted to room with someone else, the other he just had second thoughts about. I know that a roommate can make or break your year, especially your first year, so I would appreciate you joining me in prayer that he finds someone that is "good". My first year I thankfully had some good roommates. I am still very close to one of them to this day. A couple of my other years I did not have good ones, and I would really hate for Jacob to spend his first few months, and first year with someone who is not good. As a mom I am very burdened about this. Josh did not have this problem as he had a friend he already knew. It's really hard to let them fly but still want the best for them.

soccer
Soccer has not gone as planned. I guess it's because it is not really her sport. It has been a learning experience and a teachable time for me showing her that you finish what you started. The team has had a great year. We are tied for conference leaders. Next week is conference tournament and then on to states. Go Warriors!

Full Time Teacher
I just received my contract for next year. I am so excited to announce that I am finally a full time teacher!! It took several classes and hard work, but I am finally there. I will be teaching my two 6 grade literature classes, MS computer, two HS computer classes and Personal Finance. I am not excited and a little nervous to be teaching HS, especially seniors, but right now I can't complain. I am wondering if 7th and 8th grade literature will open up. The teacher there is always out and I am not sure if they will let her back. If not, I am praying that they will move me because my heart and where I feel comfortable is MS.....but all I can do is pray and let God put me where he wants me. Either way, I will have a lot to prepare for this summer, but I am excited!!

Soccer/Crumbl Cookies
Now we are into soccer season. I am happy that she is playing this year. She doesn't like soccer very much, especially compared to basketball, but I was glad that she wanted to play. After the soccer game, a bunch of us went over to watch the last part of the boys baseball game.
Today we went to visit my dad. We don't go often because of COVID. With me working full time and being around positive cases, I just don't want to take anything to him. It was good to see him. I took the family in to Wegmans. I have been before, but they had never seen it. Although the prices are really high, I really enjoy walking around in there. I also looked on the website to see that Crumbl Cookies had a lemon cookie (they switch every week). We have had them before, but never a lemon! I am in love!! It was so delicious. Jacob got the Oreo kind. Jenna got the chocolate cupcake and it did taste just like a cupcake! Great weekend so far!!
