Running Around

We had a busy day yesterday, but I was so proud of Joshua and how much he got accomplished in such short time. He came home and played for about 45 minutes, came in and helped me make homemade pizza, went back out to play, came in and ate, took a shower, did two homework assignments, read his book, and made it to soccer practice. I left my camera at home so I didn't get pictures of him last night. This time we are playing with the YMCA and it is a lot less competitive. The coach seemed really nice. Joshua is happy because he knows Sam and Sam is on his team. He also knows some other children on other teams. Today is another work day and then aerobics tonight. I think I will really need the "release" tonight. Mom seemed to do well through her surgery yesterday. Since she hid inside Sunday, she didn't get in the pictures, but I thought I would include some of my dad holding Caleb, his great grandson (Philip, my newphews son).

Family Time

Catrina and me
Caleb (my nephews son) and Jenna
Tiffany

We had a nice day at my sister's house. She put on a feast, like always! Mom and dad came, Philip and Christy and Caleb, Jean, and a few of Tiffany's friends. It was a lot of fun. The kids had fun playing outside and playing with some of the older teenagers. It was just such a nice weekend...spending time with my husband and my family. Today I am working. They asked me last week if I would sub, and I said yes. Joshua starts soccer practice tonight too, so that will fill out our days!

Date Night

Jack and I had a good time last night. We went to Chili's and had a nice dinner, then we went over to Briar Creek and did some shopping and stopped by the mall before it closed. It was a lot of fun, but the time change this morning has really gotten me! It was hard for me to get up for choir practice this morning. The kids are still sleeping. They played hard last night outside. We are having lunch with Catrina and Bob today, so we are looking forward to that.

Family Night

We had a nice family night. We ate tacos and then went to Chick Fil A and let the kids play and had ice cream. That was something different and fun. After that, we went to Kohl's. I saw a beautiful picture that would go over my couch. It was $100, but 40 % off. I also saw a skirt and shirt I would love to have. Maybe next month I can get the shirt and skirt. I wish Christmas was around the corner and I would ask for Kohl's cards!!
We are going to yard sales this morning and then I am getting my hair cut and highlighted this afternoon. I'll feel like a princess for at least a day! I can never get my hair to look like the way she does it. After that, Tiffany is coming over for Jack and I to have date night. I am not sure what we will do or where we will go. Nothing is really playing at the movies that I would like to see, but I am glad to get out!!

Chili Contest Update

Well, we didn't win. Jack thinks we probably got 4th place. The good news is that he tried all the chili without looking at the numbers on the bottom and he chose mine! What a loyal husband!! He said we got a lot of votes, so I am still proud!!

The Great ACC Chili Cookoff and Other Cooking Adventures

Ok. So, today, Jack's company is having a celebration for the ACC Tournament with a chili cookoff. They are having the tournament on all day. Anyway, Jack asked me to fix my "famous" chili (famous only to him, of course). I guess he thinks it could win, but with 20 entries, I somehow doubt mine would come close. You know I am not the greatest cook. I probably should have gone to Wendy's and bought about 10 of their chili's and put it in my crock pot. It was fun though and I am happy that Jack thinks my chili is good enough to enter. The kids and I also made green rice krispies the other night in honor of St. Patrick's Day. They really enjoyed it.

The Haircut

Need a good laugh?..........

the finished product

Jacob got his haircut last night. He was so cute and so funny, that I had to take his picture. He was laughing the entire time! He looks so cute now (well, he was always cute). Also, HAPPY 17th Birthday, Tiffany! I hope you have a great day! I remember when Jack and I were dating and we took you to the zoo. You were Joshua's size and age! Wow, you make me feel so old!
