Thoughts
I am SO HAPPY that I have a day off tomorrow! Yipee! I love a Friday off! Johnston County has a teacher workday and we follow Johnston County. The boys have school so it's just me and Jenna. Time will go by so quickly. I hope to catch up around the house, run a couple of errands and do another craft with Jenna. 2:30 will come by so quickly!
Today the boys had a half day. They got out at 11:30 and then at 1:15 I had a meeting with Jacob's teacher, Miss Sabo. Again, I heard nothing but positive things about him. He has stayed on green this entire time, he is good at math, he is very neat and careful with his writing etc. We do have a little trouble learning blends (ba, be, bi, bo, bu) and change the letter etc. She said he isn't behind and it will soon "click" with him. I am so proud. It's just another confirmation that we are in the right place.
Finally, I am so excited because tomorrow (Friday night) Jack and I are meeting several other couples from CBC and are going to the movie "Fireproof". It is a Christian movie with Kirk Cameron (who I used to have a HUGE crush on). It is from the makers of Facing the Giants which is also one of my favorite movies.
Have a great weekend!

Jenna and the Prayer Request
We try to pray with the kids before bedtime and this is the conversation Wednesday night.....
Jack: "does anyone have any prayer requests tonight?"
Jenna: "pray for mommy's class tomorrow that they won't be bad anymore" (I guess even Jenna can even tell that things have been off to a crazy start!!)
Jenna continued. "Mommy, I like Laura". "She is sweet just like me". She is pretty, just like me"
Sometimes I wish I had the confidence she does. Maybe I am wrong, but I want her to know that she is pretty and special. I struggled and still struggle with self-worth, that I think it helps her to know that she is pretty and special. It's just cute when she mentions it during a prayer request!!
My class went better today. Thankfully, we lost one of the boys that was not potty trained and stayed on the floor and cried the entire time. He definitely had some major problems and was just not ready for preschool, and I am glad mom saw it. The class is still challenging, but it was better today and I hope that means more progress. I have been thinking about other things for next year. I don't make much money, so if we are able to keep the kids in school, I would like a better paying job. I guess working with the 3's has made me re-think things. My 4's, like always are great! I have been thinking about the possibility of just getting a part time job. I have also thought applying to Johnston Co. schools systems as a teachers aid. I have a friend that works 9-2 every day, makes more money and doesn't have to drive a bus (which I WILL NOT DO). We'll just see how things go. Have a great weekend!

Cream Cheese Chicken
I FINALLY made this cream cheese chicken. Every time I had it on our menu, something came up. I put this in the crock pot before I left work, and when I got home at 3, the house just smelled divine!! I added the soup, milk, cream cheese an hour before I was done, and it made a wonderful gravy for the chicken and potatoes. The chicken was so tender, we didn't need a knife. I really liked this one. Here it is:
Cream Cheese Chicken (crock pot)
4-6 chicken breasts (boneless, skinless)
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 package dry Italian dressing mix
1 can cream of chicken soup
8 oz cream cheese, cubed
1/2 cup milk
Place chicken breasts, butter & Italian dressing in crock pot on low. Cook about 8 hours. One hour before serving, add the final 3 ingredients. Cook all ingredients until they are melted and it is the consistency of gravy. Use two forks to shred the chicken. Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta.

Oh The Things a 4 year old says.....
I'm driving down the road the other day and this car starts to pull out in front of me. I said "Please don't do that, that's not a smart move".....Jenna says "mom, why are you yelling at that car? Don't you know he can't hear you?"
Another day: Jenna toots (and thinks I didn't hear)
"Jenna, did you toot?" "No, mommy, that's just my whistle!!!"
(Just don't whistle away Jenna!!!)
Happy Thursday!!

The Teacher Conference
I had a teachers conference with Joshua's teacher, Mrs. Harris yesterday. I was nervous because I thought it was a little early for one, even though progress reports come out next week. She is starting conferences with everyone, so that made me feel better. What made me feel even better was the report she gave on Joshua. He is doing so well and has adjusted well to the new school. She has seen a lot of improvement especially in the last week and a half. He has been bringing home A's and B's on his tests and grades. I just couldn't be more proud!!
Ok, my day yesterday was crazy. I hope it gets better. Let me break it down.
Carter....he won't show up until next week (he is on vacation)
Brayden and Breyle, the twins.....no problem
Laura, very quiet, no problems
Nick, the red head little boy. Did fine unless he didn't get his way. I took a car away from him and he cried saying he wanted his mommy!!
James, the one very allergic to nuts....did great!!
Chrisitian....not ready for preschool. Not potty trained. Cried when asked to do his "work", freaked out when we wanted to paint his hand. He wouldn't even let us trace it.
Grant, pooped in his pants the first day, very immature. Told his mom next time it happens, she will be called and she will have to change it.
Emily, did fine. Needs to learn to share, but we had her sister last year, so she knows the drill.
Last, but not least, Reese, the red headed girl. The mom won't talk to me. Seriously, the girl has something medically wrong with her, but I don't know what it is. Mom is probably in denial (why do I always get these moms in denial?) She is a bully, and at 3, is probably as big as Jacob!!! I tried to lift her and almost hurt my back! Every 3 minutes I am calling her name. I was very tired yesterday and I only hope this class will get better and mature!!

Back To Work
So tomorrow I am back to work. I am not looking forward to it. I hope I get into the swing of things and change my attitude. I have so enjoyed having time alone here at the house....time to work, time to chill, time to run errands etc. It is so hard for some reason to go back. My 4 year old class seems to be pretty good. I have 5 kids from my three year old class from last year who are continuing on in my class. I have one girl from Jenna's class last year. One little boy who is very shy, and two new girls that are totally new. They seemed nice and most of all the moms seemed nice which is half the battle. We did have one girl drop out, so it will be interesting to get another new child in her place. We do have a lot of kids with allergies this year. I don't understand why all these kids have such horrible allergies. I NEVER heard of anyone when I grew up having allergies like this. Two of the kids have to have their moms provide the snack. One has such a bad peanut allergy that it is the matter of life or death! Could you imagine me reading the labels of all the food, and then missing the small words that said "peanut oil" and doing something horrible to this child? The other girl is allergic to all milk products. Wow, it should be interesting!! More on my three year old class tomorrow!

Deals for the Week
I have a picture, but I didn't unload it, so I will just tell you. I got two BC's (Jack likes them) and a tube of Colgate toothpaste for free. I also got some Cover Girl Wetslicks. After coupons and sales and the ECB;s I used, I ended up paying $5.50 for the Wetslicks. The good deal about this week is that I paid out of pocket $5.50 and I got back $11 for the next time.....I doubled what I spent! This is one of my better weeks for sure. I hope everyone survived Hurricane Hanna. We are just wet, but survived just fine. Have a great weekend.

Sarah, Plain and Tall
Have you ever seen this series? I often think of this when I think of Sarah Palin (just change the letters around). I don't think of Sarah Palin as "Plain". I hate politics. I don't get into it, don't listen to it etc. I do vote and have voted the past 3-4 elections, but I hate listening to campaigns, debates and speeches. I did not really want to vote this year, but last night I actually stayed up and listened to Sarah's speech (I did go to bed at 11). I like her. She seems like a sincere woman. I just liked what she had to say, and I loved the way she carried herself. She is a mom, a wife, and she seemed very genuine. She looks like she could handle herself and keep up with the "big boys". Personally, my mind is not moved just because her daughter got pregnant. I think it is one more obstacle that her family is working through. I do love that she has a "special needs" child. How she can handle office and 5 kids (well let's say 3 since two look grown) I don't know, but a mom with determination can usually find a way to handle anything she puts her mind to. This will probably be the first and only post I have about politics, just because I am not crazy about it, but Sarah....you have my vote, and I'll be voting in November.

The Science Project
So here we are the third week of school and already we have a project, science at that. We are doing an insect project. He has to pick an insect, and give a presentation on the insect. He can use a poster board display, journal entry of the day in the life of the insect, or "interview" the insect. He has to report, what the size is, any special colors, special body parts, how it moves around, what does it eat, where does it live, is it helpful or pesky, it's enemies etc. THEN..... he has to make a three dimensional representation of the insect. Ok all my science nuts.....can you give me any ideas? Joshua wants to do the butterfly, but I need any ideas!!!!
also, I got "tagged" by Lydia. Since she tagged everyone else that reads my blog, I can't tag anyone else. Here are five things you might not have known about me.
I am terrified of water. I don’t mind showers, baths etc, but a large amount of water scares me. I can’t swim. I don’t go far in the ocean, and I don’t get in a pool unless I touch bottom. I don’t even trust life jackets!!
I can’t stand for grass to get tall. I hate it! I love to mow, but I just get really spastic when our grass gets out of control.
I am a worry wart. I can worry about the silliest things. I rub my face and my eyes when I get stressed or when something is on my mind.
I am a very picky eater. I can’t stand vegetables! I can eat most fruit, but I hate veggies (I do like lettuce though)
I can’t drive a stick shift, but I used to drive my dad’s tractor! Can you picture that? I grew up on a farm and we had cows, and horses.
I am terribly shy. People tend to think I am stuck up because I am shy. I am doing better at this, but I don’t open up much to people. If you are one of the lucky ones, be careful. Once I open up to someone, I don’t stop!!!
