Proud Mom

Report cards came out yesterday. Jacob and Jenna got Pastor's list (straight A's) and Joshua got A/B honor roll. I am so happy. If you only knew what we have been going through with Joshua, worrying we did the right thing, questioning our decisions, you would know that we are flying high with his grades. I've learned as a mom that it's ok if we study spelling for two hours and he gets and 88%. I've really calmed down about it and taken a deep breath and realized this is ok. He even got an A in math....and that totally surprised me!! I've also learned with talking to one of his teachers that getting a "C" is like a "B" or low A" in a public school....that has really calmed my nerves.....but we didn't even get a "C"! I know things will get harder and he may get those "C's" but we're on the right track, mommy is calmed down, and things will be ok!!

Science Fair

Southside is having a science fair this week. Every class had a theme and every student had to do something regarding the theme. Jenna's class did weather, so we made a poster about the water cycle. Jacob's class had to do something with insects. He also had to do a report, poster board and a "model" of the insect. We chose the caterpillar and took Styrofoam balls and painted them orange and made a caterpillar. Josh's class had a theme of "Fearfully and Wonderfully Made". They had to choose and organ and do a model on that. We chose the lungs. We used a tube for the throat leading down to the lungs (two balloons) and then the bottom balloon was the diaphragm. I think they all did a great job, and it wasn't too bad having 3 projects due the same day!! (sorry, still can move my pictures the right way)

Trick or Treat

Last night we went over to Traci's house for dinner. There was so much food. Kim's family also joined us so we had 7 kids all together. I was so cheap this year. I refuse to buy costumes for just an hour of activity for 3 kids!! Josh went as a Clemson football player, Jacob was a soccer player and Jenna was a princess (of course). Kim had a costume for her so that worked out great.

The First 45 days.......

It's that time.....report cards. I am very proud and excited. Two of my kids made straight A's (Pastor's list) and one got A honor roll. I must admit it was hard to feel good about two of them when Joshua tried so hard and missed it by one grade. How do you congratulate Jake and Jenna when he just missed it? I feel so bad, but A honor roll is quite incredible. Here is the breakdown:

Joshua:
Bible A+
Math A
English B
Reading A
Spelling A+
Spanish A

Jacob:
Bible, Math, English, Phonics, Reading, Spelling and Science A's.

Jenna:
Bible, Math, History A. Phonics and Spelling A+, Reading A-

Easter Moments

Saturday we went to the Easter Egg Hunt at Monica's. Jenna and Jacob had a scavenger hunt and Joshua made crafts. We didn't stay long as we wanted to spend time as a family. The kids did have a lot of fun though. Sunday we went to my sister's house and had a family get together and the kids got to hunt eggs and play.

Tomorrow is my surgery and then we are going out of town for a couple of days. I probably won't blog tomorrow, but if it's ok with Jack, I might take our laptop and post Thursday or Friday!!
