June

Summer is flying by.  Here we stand at the end of June.  The first two weeks of vacation were hard.  We had some issues that came up that needed my attention so I felt like I hadn't given the kids any attention.  Last week I also started keeping the regular boy I keep plus his brother.  When I have the boys we usually do one day at the pool and one day bowling so we are keeping busy.  Monday I sent Jake and Jenna off to the Wilds for the week.  I got this picture of the Wilds website.  She looks like she is having fun.  It seems like in the next few weeks will be even busier with Jacob getting braces, Josh leaving for camp and a mission trip, starting football practice, and drivers ed (YIKES).

We've Been Busy

Sweet summertime!!  We've enjoyed our rest already!!  The end of May was a whirlwind.  We ended the school year with an awards banquet at school.  This is a dress up event and Jacob hated every minute of it.  Josh doesn't mind as much as long as I don't take a lot of pictures.  Jenna was actually more excited and she isn't even in middle school or high school!!  Jenna enjoyed dressing just like her friend Neely.  Josh had a difficult year, but I was so proud to have him win the MVP of middle school basketball.  It was nice to hear the good things coach said about him.  He even said that Josh had a lot of leadership skills and potential, so I am anxious to see how God will use that.  We finished the year on Friday with a half day (appropriate for Jacob's 12th bday).  On Saturday morning we left bright and early for our weekend vacation.  This year we didn't do Myrtle Beach as the cost is getting high, so we went to Carowinds and then on Sunday we went to Ikea and the Great Wolf Lodge.  Perfect weekend getaway.  We got to Carowinds around 9:30 and Jack and I headed in line for the new ride Fury.  It was so awesome.  Josh wouldn't ride that with me, but he did get on all the other coasters with me.  I was in heaven at Ikea (one of my favorite stores) and the Great wolf lodge was fun too.  My legs were killing me by Sunday night because every time you did a slide you had to climb 85 stairs....whoooo!!!  This week we are relaxing.  The end of June our summer seems to really get crazy with activities.
