Requesting Prayer

Wow.....two weeks from now we will be on our way to Haiti. It is hard to believe that the time has come.  I am amazed on how God provided our finances for the trip.  He tested our faith by allowing the last of the money to come in the last day.  We still have a lot of expenses......fans, supplies, clothes etc to take care of.  I loved watching the kids help......working, selling things for yard sales, baking cupcakes/cinnamon rolls.


In our first official meeting last week, the devil got ahold of me.  While I knew going to Haiti would be rough, hearing some of the stores of prior trips and the possibility of things scared me to death.  It has scared Jenna so bad that she doesn't even want to take a shower.   It will be hot and we will be pushed to our limits.  Could you please pray for our health and safety?


Also, I was informed that I was in charge of crafts (not asked) but just put in charge.  I also have to buy all supplies.  Now, I am used to doing crafts with my little friends that I used to keep charge of, but this is for 250-300 kids.  The ages are between 7-16.  I really have no idea how to prepare for doing crafts for this many kids.  I also don't know what I will be doing.  I need to do this for 5 days, so please, please pray for me.

July

Summer sure is going by quickly.  I am enjoying the week off from no kids.  Jenna has to babysit M-W this week, but she is usually pretty good about not depending on me.  We are about 3 weeks away from Haiti and we are now down to needing only $350!!  God sure is good.  Doors have been opened wide open and He is providing.  It hasn't been easy, but it is coming.


We enjoyed the 4th with friends.  Joshua started working for a brick mason.  He hates it.  It cracks me up because the only reason he hates it is because they all speak Spanish and he has no one to talk too.  Joshua and Jacob went to camp last week.  Jenna stayed with me to babysit and also help me babysit.  I surprised Jack with an overnight trip.  I was able to email his boss and ask if he could have the day off and then I took him to Ikea.  We have been re-doing our bathroom and he was begging me to take him to Ikea, but I kept putting him off because I knew I was taking him this weekend.  We spent 3 hours there and then we went to a concert with Jeremy Camp, Mercy Me, Natalie Grant and Meredith Andrews.  It was probably one of the best ones I have been too.


I need to take pictures of the bathroom, but here is the story.  Jack asked me one day if I wanted to go anywhere and I said "Lowes".  He asked me why and I told him because I wanted to dream!!  I found some "cheap" flooring I wanted to use to replace the bathroom.  What was supposed to be a $35 project turned into over $1500!!  Why?  We found a leak that was rotting the floor, so we had to rip everything out. I guess that is what I get for dreaming!!
