Bowling Party

Today Travis and Wes came over to celebrate Joshua's b-day. I think they had fun. They are truly kids though because they were more interested in what little trinkets their tickets from their games would buy than anything. They also seemed to like playing our Wii more than anything....yes, we got a wii, and I love it. Anyway, I think they all had a great time.

Birthday Pictures

Joshua had a great birthday. We went to Chili's and my parents met us there. We ate and ate and ate!!

While Joshua was up front waiting for my parents, I told the waitress it was his b-day. After our meal, they came up and sang to him and brought him a treat. He was so surprised and got so embarrassed!!! My child who can get up in front of people and speak without getting afraid, got so incredibly red (I guess he gets that from me). It was way to funny. My only regret is that I forgot my camera had video and I should have taped it instead!!! I also died laughing because of Jacob. He laughed and laughed and laughed thinking it was the funniest thing that we got one on Joshua!! After that he opened a present there from my mom and dad. He got a new Bible cover and a gift card to Walmart. He came home and opened our presents. He decided he didn't want cake (thank goodness) until his friends come tomorrow, so I'll take a picture of that then. He ordered a blizzard cake from DQ and we are having pizza too!

Donuts for Daddy Day

Today was donuts for daddy day, which is one of our favorite days of preschool (maybe because we get donuts). Jenna did an art project for Jack, sang, and enjoyed donuts with him this morning. Her teacher asked her what she liked to do with her daddy and she said "play guess who" so that is what she drew for her special daddy.

So How Are You Doing????

How are you doing on your goals? I know we still have this week before January is over, but I have it on my mind today. We haven't done any household projects or had anyone over, but I'm not worried about that yet. I'm sure the majority of these two goals will come in the spring and summer. Our 3 year Bible reading as a family has gone great. We are actually ahead on that, which is a good thing. Now, the last goal...getting rid of 10 lbs. I struggle with this one, and at times get discouraged. I'm proud to say however that I have been on the treadmill for at least 30 minutes 5 times a week. The bad part is that I still hate it, I don't feel any better, and I have lost 3.5-4 lbs. I was really hoping I would start to enjoy it more, and that I would physically start to feel better, and I was hoping for the 5 lbs. I have given up snacks at night, which is a huge task for me. I guess I'll keep plugging away.
My biggest fear comes next week. (ok men readers, turn your head for this part). I have my annual ob/gyn appt. Last year she told me that I had gained a lot of weight and needed to start losing this weight. I know she will say something again because 4 lbs (maybe not that much after a cake and parties this weekend...i may put some on) isn't that much. Also, since I turn the BIG 40 this year (ugh!!!) I am afraid they will make me have a mammogram. (again ugh). I have heard how painful they are, and it makes me feel old to have one. Also, I am afraid they will find something there. Ok, this is another post all together!! All I wanted to know is how is your goals going?

A Girl Could Get Used To This.......

I could really get used to days like today. I dropped the boys off, ran to Walmart, and then headed over to visit with my friend Lydia....(thanks Lydia). Jenna got to play with Kimberly and Lauren and the boys. After that, I went to the boy's school and had lunch with them. I really enjoyed getting to see them at school and they kept telling me how much they enjoyed me coming. Last night Joshua told me how excited he was to have me coming. I never realized something so little would make them so happy. I really could get used to this. Now, I need to get on the treadmill and clean house!!

Jacob, Jacob.....

Last night the boys were cutting up (which seems to happen a lot lately) and Jack looked at Josh and said "boy, if you don't straighten up, I'm going to spank your tail". Jacob spoke up and said "daddy, Joshua doesn't have a tail"!!!

The kids were so excited this morning. I would say more so than Christmas morning! They were begging me to go outside at 8 am.

Things we will do on our day off.......

Oh, I am so excited to have a day off tomorrow. First item of business....sleep in a little bit. I'll probably be up at my normal time, but I will just lay in a warm bed and take my time getting up. Next, fix the kids breakfast, get on the treadmill and shower (all of this at a slow place). I'm sure there will be lots of playing, getting housework done. The kids and I also have a major project tomorrow afternoon. We are taking all of our old toys over to the kids exchange sale in hopes of making some extra money. So, I am thankful for a day off, but it will be busy!!!! The rest of the week will be busy, but better than last week. Tuesday I work and then Joshua has a dentist appt at 2. Wednesday I am going on a field trip with Joshua and Jacob and then I am working the sale Wednesday night (extra money to pay for Joshua's b-day party). Thursday, I am off, but I have to take Jenna to a make up gymnastics class. Friday I am off and plan to have lunch with the boys at school!
