Oh The Things Jacob Says....

It might not be funny to you, but I was doing homeowork with Jacob. He is learning how to read and we had the word "wig". He got the word right. I asked him, "Jacob, do you know what a wig is"?. He said "yes, that's the thing you do with your tail"!

Thank you for thinking and asking about Joshua. His mouth is still sore, but he is doing well. He is having a hard time eating food (other than soft) so I hope that will get better in a few days.

Trunk or Treat

So I told you I would tell you about the rest of our weekend. Saturday night we headed over to the church where I teach preschool. Every year they have a "trunk or treat" celebration...an outreach to the community. Every time this church does something, they seem to go all out. After being a part of the preschool for a number of years, we decided we would head over there since we were not doing anything and it would be a good family event. Every room had a game for the kids to play and for playing they got a treat for their bucket. I like the one of Joshua trying to get a donut. Jacob and Jenna did no want to try this!! They also had a cake walk. I have never seen a cake walk before. I love the picture of Jacob concentrating on his numbers. Jacob won one round, so he was excited to come home with cupcakes. They also gave away free hot dogs (very good ones) with chips and lemonade. They had face painting and puppet shows. When we were done eating, we went outside to the cars to get MORE candy!! I really like the way some of these cars were decorated. I like the "Pilgrim theme" and the movie theme, set with a red carpet and oscar awards! It was really cute and the kids had a great time and we'll go back next year. On a side note....please pray for Joshua Wednesday at 2.....two more teeth are getting pulled!

A Busy Weekend

We had a really great fun, family weekend. The boys got off early Friday so we went and rented Star Wars (ok, so that wasn't fun). Our makeup soccer game was cancelled, so we went to Andy's for dinner and then shopped at Walmart (we don't go there very often anymore). I was able to get some Christmas ideas so that was good. Saturday was our annual "my trash is your treaure" ladies event at Clemmons State Forest. It was a blast! I got a few Christmas items and plaques, and I was able to get rid of my "sensual amber" lotion that I couldn't stand. (I love Bath and Body works, but this fragrance didn't smell good to me). Sara did a great job on her devotional. I always enjoy this event. We were also able to have a fun Saturday night, but I'll save that for the next post.

Spider Craft

Another easy one. I painted Jenna's hands black and put her prints on the paper (except I forgot and did one thumb, so my spider is a little "sick" looking). Then she put wiggle eyes and we have a spider. It kept her happy and it was quick for me.

The boys had a half day today, so I guess we will just "hang" out for the afternoon. Right now they are watching Star Wars, so I guess they are happy campers!! Have a great weekend!

A Pick Me Up

I've been feeling a little down the last few days and got a much needed pick me up.....Report cards!!! I know that sounds silly. I was just so happy with the kids reports I almost cried. Joshua made the "overall A average" honor roll, and Jacob got all "E's" (excellent). Joshua got all A's and B's, which just blew my mind. I even got two bumper stickers for my cars

Bible-A
Phonics B
Math A
Reading A-
Writing B-
Spelling A
Science A+
I know the work is getting harder for him, and he had to work really hard to get these grades, but they both went above my expectations. I am one very proud mom!!

More Soccer Pictures

I asked Joshua last week if I embarrass him cheering for him at soccer and he said no. I think I have embarrassed some of my friends, but I just can't help it!

Pumpkin Craft

Jenna did another craft yesterday. We took a lunch bag, stuffed it with newspaper, painted it orange and then she tied a green pipe cleaner to it. Pretty simple, but it makes her happy to do a craft!

Last Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday I went with the three year olds to the pumpkin patch, and today was Jenna's class. I was amazed at how big the pumpkins grew over night (ha ha). Yesterday they were small, but today they were a nicer size. I don't knew where the imported them from, but the kids had fun. I enjoyed spending time with Jenna too! Enjoy the pictures!

A Whirlwind Weekend

It was a crazy weekend. Friday night I headed over to Friendship to attend Mac and Beth Lynch's choir clinic. It was a lot of fun. I enjoyed seeing people from Friendship and all my old friends from Bethany Hills. By the time I got home, Jack was home from his trip to Denver. He brought me these beautiful flowers. (thanks sweetheart). They are artificial, so I can use them for years to come. We didn't get anything accomplished Saturday and then we headed back in for more practice and the choir concert that night. I am looking forward to a calm weekend, and hopefully we can get some things accomplished!!!

A Good Friday

It's a good Friday for several reasons:

1. First of all, it is Friday!!!

2. Joshua scored a goal last night, and I FINALLY got to see him do it!!!

3. Jack comes home tonight (he has been in Denver)

4. Did I mention it was Friday????!!!!

Have a good weekend!!!

More Crafts

Jenna and I made these spiders yesterday (thanks to Jen for the ideas). I put one on our front door and the other on the kitchen table. I hope since we did two yesterday she won't come home and say "mommy, can we do a craft?"!!! I also thought I would post the pictures of her and Skye dressed alike on Sunday!
