Easter Egg Hunt

The kids had an Easter Egg hunt at Monica and Bobby's. Thank you, Monica for opening your home to all the church kids. The kids really had a lot of fun. We have enough candy to last till next year! After the egg hunt, Miss Rhonda came over to watch the kids so Jack and I could go shopping and have lunch. Thank you, Miss Rhonda for offering to watch our children so that we could spend some time together. I was really a little bummed that I couldn't find anything I liked!! I need to lose some weight and maybe things would fit! Thank you, Jack for making "date time" such a priority in our marriage!!

Yeah, It's Friday!!!

I have to go to work today. I did manage to get sheets changed on the kids bed yesterday, and I'll do ours this morning, so now I won't be that far behind. I still need to get groceries though. I hate doing that on the weekend. I did have Jack stop last night to get enough for tonight's taco night. It's Jenna's family night. I think she wanted to make smores, play bingo, and rent Happy Feet, so that will be something different. I am hoping Joshua will want to rent Charlotte's Web next week, but we'll see.

Picture Day

Today was picture day at the preschool. They took class pictures and individual pictures. I only had to be in the class picture. The preschool director then wanted to take pictures of those that had siblings in the preschool, so she took Jacob and Jenna's. I didn't know that she was also going to put me in with them for some of them. Anyway, I didn't want to disturb the kids during their pictures, but I was in there for when Jacob and Jenna had theirs together, so I snapped some. Tuesday we had picnic day. I ran out to get a couple shots of Jacob's class. Next week we have Tuesday and then Thursday is our egg hunt and party and then spring break! I can use the week off, even though I have all three kids. I have to go to work tomorrow. I did get a huge blessing today. Anna and Olivia gave Jenna a bag full of clothes. I love the hand me downs! They are mostly shirts, but she also got 3 pair of sandals. She hardly wore them at all. I am so thankful for them! We used to get a lot of stuff from someone at BHBC, but since we don't go there any more, I was a little worried. I still may need to buy her some shorts and some dresses, but maybe I'll just get those for her birthday!

One Proud Mom

As a mom, I am always proud of my kids, but let me tell you how proud I am of Joshua. Last night he had his first soccer game with the YMCA and he was fantastic. He ran so fast and stayed with the ball the entire time. He kicked the ball about 3 times as much last night as he did the entire season last fall. He just really put himself in the game and enjoyed himself. I kept telling him how proud I was of him. Then, I told him one more time and he said "mom, I am proud of you too"...I asked him why he was proud of me and he said "I could hear you cheering for me the entire time".. yes, as a mom, I can't be quiet during the game. One of these days when he gets older I will probably embarrass him.
He enjoyed his day off yesterday. We went to Sam's house and Sara, Wes, Wil, and Skye met us over there. The kids played outside and then inside and we had a GREAT lunch.....thanks Al and Jennifer....it was great!!! We then went to an ostrich farm, which was interesting. I'll post those pictures tomorrow as I am sure Sara and Jenn will be posting theirs today. Thank you Wes and Wil for all the gifts. I especially like the jello!!! (ha ha). I thought that was very sweet of you to bring everyone gifts!!!

Joshua doesn't have school today....teacher workday. He was very excited about that. We are getting together with friends. I've had the chance today to clean the shower, the kitchen and do some laundry. At least I have gotten some stuff done, and now we can have some fun.

A Great Weekend

I managed to get to point A to B to C and D and everywhere in between yesterday. The yard sale went great. Thanks mom for picking up the stuff for me. We made $80, plus Jack sold a computer for $100, but more importantly, I can see my closet again! I am so excited about that. Jack says he is going to spend that money on my birthday, but that is a lot of money just for a birthday!! Not to mention that we could really use that to pay some extra expenses and put toward our budget (which I seem to be blowing BIG time this month!!) This year, I took most of my stuff to goodwill that didn't sell so that I can keep my closets clean. There were a few things too good to take there, but I think I can find room. The shower went really nice. I was so glad to get to go to that. I rushed home and went to Apex to see Scott, Traci and Travis. We followed them to Friday's and ate dinner and then went back to their house to let the kids play and have dessert. Joshua and Jacob didn't want to leave. Jenna didn't really like "Boomer" (their new dog) so I think she was ready to go. Thanks again Scott and Traci! We love getting together with you guys and we miss you so much! Can't wait to get together again soon! Thanks for the swing too. Everyone is outside right now putting it together.!! Thank you, Jack for watching the kids yesterday so that I could get everything accomplished!

Family Fun Night

We had a great time at family night. The kids got to play with the neighbors a little while, then we ran to the park, ate "snores", and watched a video. The yard sale went well today. At least I got my closet cleaned out. I am getting ready for the shower and then we are heading off to have dinner with Scott and Traci and Travis. I just love the weekends! I think I am still beating my mom and brother in basketball, but will know for sure tomorrow.

Jacob's "Snores"

This was last week during Twister

Finally the weekend is here, although it will be busy! Tomorrow I need to get up early and do the yard sale until about 11, run home change clothes, see the kids, feed them lunch, and then run to the shower. After that, we are going to Apex to eat out with our friends. Whew!!

Tonight is taco night and Jacob's night. Thank goodness it is not a "Cars" night! He wants to eat tacos, run to the park, make "SNORES" (I think you understand what we are doing. At least tonight it will be warmer) and then watch "Willie" (as he calls it). a short movie. Actually it is Max Lucado's, "If only I had a green nose". (the Hermie series....features Tim Conway and they used to have Don Knotts too) I see that they have a new Hermie video out. I thought it had a cute title....... Milo the Mantis Who Wouldn't Pray!!!

Open House

I am posting a little late today. I wasn't going to post at all, but then decided I would. We had preschool today. Things went well, but Ella was a handful again. After school, the kids came home and played outside. Then we picked Joshua up and Anna and Olivia followed us home and stayed and played outside for about an hour. We ate dinner and then went to Josh's school for open house. It was nice to see how he has improved in his journals. "Clifford" was there at the book fair. Of course, Jenna wouldn't get near him. At least Jacob got just brave enough to get near him. I was disappointed that my camera ran out of batteries and I couldn't get a picture of his Dr. Seuss bulletin board. It was cute. I did get a picture of his kite he made.

Joshua's is the pink kite.

The Caboose

I have decided to keep posting in the morning. I like that better. I finally figured out why Joshua wanted to pack his lunch today. He is passing up pizza! His job for today is the caboose, and he finally admitted that he didn't want to be the last one to get his lunch! If he packs his lunch, he can walk in the lunch room and go right to the tables and start! Smart boy! He was so disappointed that yesterday he was line leader, and of all days, they were not having something he liked. How many days do you get to be first in the lunch line?

We enjoyed the outside yesterday. It was just beautiful. I didn't go to aerobics last night since I was out late Monday night. I really missed going. Jenna and I took a walk in our neighborhood, Joshua went over to David and Jenna's to play (our neighbors) and Jacob, of course stayed and helped his daddy on his outdoor projects. It will be cooler today, but warm weather will be back. I am looking forward to letting them get back out. I'll probably just work with Jacob and Jenna today, work on the yard sale stuff (I don't have much at all) and then do the normal stuff.

It's Only Tuesday?

Jacob with Miss Kathy (on left) and Miss Ann...the best preschool teacher!!

I feel like I have done so much, and it's only Tuesday. Today was preschool. The kids were pretty good, but I couple of them got on the last nerve I think I had left. Just one of those days. I dropped Joshua off, and then Jacob suddenly remembered he forgot his "cars" for sharing day...so, I had to turn around, run in and let him get his stuff. Then, after preschool, the three of us ran to Walmart to get groceries. I have to admit, the kids were good, even though I would much rather go by myself. I just unloaded them and now I have to run up at 2:30 to Joshua's school for the bookfair. I just feel I have spent my day running, but I have got a lot accomplished, plus, now I won't have to sit in carpool line, which will leave the kids more time to play!! I tried to sneak in and get a picture of Jacob telling about his "cars" but he had already had his turn before I could get in there.

More Pictures from the Party

I was just waiting for the call today, and thankfully, I didn't get one. I had so much that I wanted to get done around here. I have gotten a lot accomplished for 10 am, and I HAVE EVEN HAD A SHOWER TOO!!! (usually those come after noon) I cleaned out my closet in case I have a yard sale with my mom Saturday (I have so much going on that day). I washed two loads of laundry ( I still have to get them dry and put away), I cleaned out my pantry and the kitchen cupboards, and I went through Jenna's clothes to see what she could wear for the spring/summer, and what needed to be put away for another time. I even had "homework" (as he calls it) with Jacob. I just basically review his letters, write his name, and then he is learning to write some of the letters he doesn't know yet. I have so much more I can do, I'll just wait and see what I feel like doing. Joshua has soccer practice tonight. I am meeting Jack there, and then I am heading off with Sara and Sarah to Jen's house for a Mary Kay party. Oh, the BIG news....I am beating my brother by one game in the tournament. I haven't heard from my mom yet.

The Birthday Party

Joshua had a great time at Sam's house. My little boy has started spending the nights with his friends!! I took the kids over to the birthday party at Planet Child, in Cary. It was a lot like PlaySpace, only cleaner and a little smaller. The kids had a great time playing with the train, playing in the kitchen and dressing up like pirates. Joshua had the most fun because all his friends from church were there....Sam, Levi, and Wes. It was mainly people from our church so that was fun. We came home and Jen and I stopped at the meat sale at the country store, and then we stayed at the house and talked for a couple hours (thanks, Jen...I needed that). We then had family night with Twister, which was very interesting since the kids really don't know the difference between right and left, and they cheated the entire time!! They loved the smores, although they only stayed out a few minutes to do the marshmellows. It was so cold and windy. We told them to watch from the window and we would finish them up for them. They were really good! So, that is my weekend in a nutshell!.

The Weekend Is Here!!!

I got called into work yesterday. I had taken Joshua to school, ran to Walmart, and then when I got home, there was a message begging me to come in. Well, there went my day, but I did get a lot accomplished. I managed to cook tacos, run the dishwasher, do 3 loads of laundry (4 if you count washing the shower curtain liner), and change the sheets on 4 beds. I went to Joshua's school and took his friends treats. So, sometimes I think the less time you have, the more you get accomplished!! We are doing family night tonight as Sam invited Josh to come play with him and spend the night. He really wanted to go, so I thought he would enjoy it. It's the first time he has spent the night somewhere without his brother and sister. He did fine. I didn't even worry about him because Jen loves him like her own. Jacob and Jenna really missed him though. We had tacos, but we are saving the twister and smores for tonight.

I tied with my brother in the first round of the tournament, so that is good. I am still waiting to hear if my mom beat us both. I am taking the kids to a birthday party this morning/afternoon so that will occupy them while Jack is doing projects around the house.
